- My brother: WHAT. WHAT THE HELL. OH MY GOD. WHAT.
- Me: I know, right?
- My brother: My mind has just been blown! No, vaporized! No, EXPLODED!
Doctor Who Challenge Day Three: Least Favorite Companion
Here’s an unpopular opinion for you. Don’t get me wrong, I like River Song to a certain extent. But the reason the Doctor has companions is so that the viewers can better understand this fantastic, alien man. Their sense of wonder and adoration with his unfailing belief in the beauty of the human race makes the show what it is.
River, on the other hand, has always struck me as a bit selfish. The way she treats the Doctor as if he is hers alone irritates me, and she has this air of entitlement about her. She seems to take the wonderful things of the universe for granted, and that’s not what the show is about.
All the same, she does have her moments. She’s a strong, empowered woman, and she brings out a little of the badass in Eleven, which I love.
